Employment Opportunities

The Social Empowerment Center is a mental health and social service agency providing services to families in Northeast Georgia. SEC provides CORE (medicaid) and contract services via DFCS and DJJ.

SEC is currently hiring Therapists, Youth & Family Counselors, Community Support Individuals (CSIs), and Parent Aides in the following counties: Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Franklin, Habersham, Hart, Jackson Oglethorpe, Madison, Stephens, and Walton.

Interested individuals must meet the following qualifications and be approved to work after a background check.

THERAPIST:

Provides therapeutic services within the home, school, or community.

Education/Experience Requirements:

LPC, LAPC, LCSW, MSW, LMFT, MFT, MS, or MA with licensure eligibility
Minimum of 6 months experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health disorders

Position Requirements:

Applicant must have their own vehicle to use for work purposes
Since most clients are seen in the home, applicant must be willing to travel throughout the county they work in
Applicant must be willing to work some after school hours

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer 6 months experience with a Georgia CORE provider
Experience with writing progress notes in the BIRP format
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

YOUTH & FAMILY COUNSELOR:

Provides counseling support to youth and their parents.

Education/Experience Requirements:

BA in a Social Services or helping field
Currently enrolled in a master's program in a license eligible field (Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, etc)

Position Requirements:

Applicant must have their own vehicle to use for work purposes
Since most clients are seen in the home, applicant must be willing to travel throughout the county they work in
Applicant must be willing to work some after school hours

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer 6 months experience working with children and adolescents or families in a community setting
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT INDIVIDUAL (CSI):

Provides social, behavioral, life skills, and coping skills for children and teens within the home and community.

Education/Experience Requirements:

BA in a Social Services field OR
Three years experience working with children and adolescents or families in a community setting

Position Requirements:

Applicant must have their own vehicle to use for work purposes
Since most clients are seen in the home, applicant must be willing to travel throughout the county they work in
Applicant must be willing to work after school hours (some evenings and weekends)

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer 6 months experience with a Georgia CORE provider

PARENT AIDE:

Provides supervision and parenting education and support for children and families involved with DFCS.

Education/Experience Requirements:

BA/BS or 5 years experience providing support services to children and families

Position Requirements:

Applicant must have their own vehicle to use for work purposes
Since most clients are seen in the home, applicant must be willing to travel throughout the county they work in
Applicant must be willing to work after school hours (some evenings and weekends)
Strong verbal and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching parenting skills
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
